Interested in a career in contract manufacturing? Reata Engineering is hiring!

In our industry-leading precision machine shop, we prefer the word career over job because we take pride in helping our team members develop skills that will allow them to own their roles and grow in the manufacturing profession.

We currently have open positions in four departments:

  • Machining
  • Quality inspection
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Customer service

We also welcome applications for many departments on a rolling basis; we’re always on the lookout for new talent!

1. Competitive Pay and Benefits

Reata is committed to being a leader not only in contract manufacturing but also as an employer.

We measure ourselves against annual manufacturing industry benchmarks, submitting compensation data to the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA) to see how we compare to other shops regarding pay and benefits. And we’ve learned that we pay more competitively than most precision machine shops our size. 

During the “Great Resignation” of the past few years, many employees left the manufacturing workforce. But our attractive compensation and benefits packages, alongside many other factors, enabled us to attract and retain top talent during this volatile period.

At Reata, diversity isn’t just a box to check. We actively work to build a diverse workforce because we know that our industry benefits from the perspectives of workers from a wide range of backgrounds. 

Compared to other shops, we have a higher percentage of women workers and employees from younger generations. We also frequently hire interns and apprentices as a way to attract diverse new talent to manufacturing. 

Similar to how we track our salary metrics against national standards, we monitor the demographic makeup of our workforce as part of our mission to make our shop all-inclusive. Employees from all walks of life find fulfilling and successful careers at Reata. We even happily welcome team members who have limited industry experience but are eager to learn.

3. Team-Focused Environment

Reata team members don’t work in isolation—they troubleshoot issues and collaborate on solutions together as a team. 

Our management promotes a culture of listening in which every employee has a voice that deserves to be heard. And while more senior workers train newer workers to perform in their manufacturing roles, the learning is often reciprocal, with newer workers introducing new technologies and ways of thinking that change the way our business operates.

When some of our newer team members brought their own 3D printers to the shop, we learned the many advantages of having easy access to this versatile technology. Now, every engineer has a 3D printer on their desk.

4. Cutting-Edge Technology

There’s always something new and exciting going on in our shop. In keeping with our mission to lead through innovation, we invest heavily in cutting-edge technologies and often beta-test new programs. Our team members appreciate having a front-row seat to the latest industry innovations; this access helps them grow in their careers and take on complex projects confidently. 

Implementing automation solutions has allowed us to delegate repetitive tasks to machines while empowering employers to perform higher-level manufacturing duties. These capabilities help us attract new talent to our precision machine shop and maintain stability amid fluctuations in customer demand.

5. Career Development

We don’t believe in boxing an employee into a specific career path and training them only in a discrete set of tasks. Instead, we offer many opportunities for training across departments. For instance, if a team member who was hired as a machinist also shows interest in assembly, we’ll help them develop those skills. 

Our company welcomes novice machinists who are willing to learn, and we offer an unusually high number of in-house and external training programs for team members. We know that everyone wins when employees are encouraged to spread their wings and gain exposure to many different facets of contract manufacturing.
