Reata partnered with a large manufacturer of hydraulic hose to build a fixture designed to strip the plastic mold off the hose during the manufacture process.
A plastic mandrel is utilized in the manufacture of hydraulic hose. This mandrel needs to be removed once the hose is completed and Reata worked with the manufacturer to build a large steel weldment that contains the components required to cut and strip the plastic mandrel from the hose. The machine employs a large motor and gear box assembly that drives a belt which pulls the hose with its plastic mandrel through the machine where the plastic mandrel is removed and recycled. Reata was responsible for the manufacture and assembly of this machine.
